Driven by a fearless willingness to innovate, Christine Jantz examines gestural expression via color, composition and materials. Inspired by the random, yet controlled dispersion of paint on canvas using non-traditional tools. Intense conceptualization of each piece prior to setting paint to canvas is integral to rapid execution and contributes to the ephemeral impression of the work. Her early vivid memories of lightening displays at night in the Southwest from the back window of a station wagon and occasional booming thunderstorms inform her art with vibrancy and intensity. Innovation comes from personal insight and desire to make a contribution.
